Paper Sweeties January Inspiration Challenge #15

Happy New Year's morning, all! Being that today is the first day of January...the Paper Sweeties' have gathered together to provide you some inspiration to last all month long! I apologize that I did not have a chance to make a new creation...this is a card that I made last year using Paper Sweeties' You Are Amazing and I'm Having a Tea Party sets:

I wanted to tie in the background paper to the sentiment panel and floral cluster, so I used my newly acquired Hot Cocoa Liquid Pearls, dabbed some on the paper and with a paint brush, made sweeping strokes for a wispy type look. And the secret to manipulating paper and having it fold gently, as opposed to hard creases is to lightly spritz the paper with water prior to crinkling. And then it dries exactly as you make it. One point though, if you're going to distress the edges with a paper distresser...make sure you do that while the paper is dry. Otherwise that little contraption eats your paper. And not in a good way. :) I did layer half of a LaRue flourish under the sentiment panel and added the metal wing to the top. The flowers are a combination of paper flowers, tulle accents and a couple of twig/funky things I cut off an arrangement in my house.

The inspiration piece:

Paper Sweeties hosts monthly challenges on their blog! Each month on the 1st we will have a brand new inspiration for you to play along with. You can enter as many times as you wish throughout the month — the more times you enter, the more chances you’ll have to win!

It’s as easy as 1-2-3 to create, share and win:

1. CREATE a card or project based on the current inspiration graphic using any of your favorite crafty supplies! You’ll get an extra vote if you use ANYTHING from the Paper Sweeties Shop!! Use the graphic as a starting point for your project — be inspired by the colors, shapes, theme — anything goes … most important — HAVE FUN and let our photo inspiration spark your creativity!

2. POST a DIRECT LINK to your project in their Inlinkz gallery — please use the URL to your actual project post (not your entire blog) so we can easily find your creation. You do not need to have a blog to enter — you can use any online gallery such as Flickr, PinterestFacebook orSplitcoast Stampers(keyword papersweeties)! You can pin your Paper Sweeties creations directly to our Friends of Paper Sweeties Pinterest Board — contact  Debbie for an invitation to contribute!

3. LINK back to the blog post so your readers can easily find us!

Our challenge will run for the entire month. You can play along as many times as you wish — the more times you play, the more chances you have to win! The challenges will end at 12 pm EST on the last day of each month. The new challenge will be revealed on the 1st of each month.
