CASE Study...CAS Conversion

Hello CASE Study fans! So, I'm curious...how do you take a CAS card and convert it to a cluttered beauty? EASY! Put it in my hands. :) We have a new Muse for this month/year...and the inspirational gal is Donna Mikasa! I chose to CASE the 'thank you' theme and, ...hmm...and that's about it: :)

I started off by using Maja Design's Vintage Summer Basics collection and pretty much using up all the strips of paper that I have saved from subsequent cuts to that yummy paper. I added a half of a doily that Julee sent me for Christmas (thanks, Julee!) and lots of pearls...both of the liquid and solid nature. Textiles that I included are a strip of daisy chain lace and a twine bow. The sentiment is from Verve...this set is called Joy for the Journey.

Here's Donna's adorable card:

If you'd like to play along with CASE Study's challenge this week...here are the deets:
1. Create a paper crafting project (card, layout, off-the-page item), based on provided inspiration (being a featured creation, made by our Muse).
2. Post your creation on your blog or an online gallery (using a code CSC173), and link it here with the inlinkz widget below. Please provide a direct link to your post, not an entire blog.
3. A new challenge is being posted every Thursday at 12.01 AM EST, and you've got until midnight on Tuesday to submit your entry.
4. You may enter as many times as you like, but you're asked to provide a newly designed project.
5. We will choose the authors of four most impressive creations, who will be awarded the Winner and Top 3 awards. In addition, there might be a person chosen randomly from the list of players, who will receive the prize provided by the sponsor - if there is one.
We will announce the winners on Wednesday.
6. If you'd like to be considered for our next month-long Guest Designer, put "GD" next to your name when linking up your project (only valid on every second challenge of the month).
7. Above all, have fun - and be inspired!

  6. I have come to appreciate your style more and more over the years I have been following you... You call your card 'cluttered'; I call it simple elegance. 'Simple' because individual elements are such basics in paper crafting yet, layered together, they make elegant cards. I have spent more than I should admit on dies and embellishments and still cannot put together creations that are consistently as lovely as yours and have only recently really realized the basic elements you use again and again to create the most wonderful cards. Your style should be a class of its own... wonderful...!!

  7. As you say, when put in your hands, a sketch turns into an object of beauty. Stunningly elegant as always and delicately pieced together. Love the half-doily and hemp bow embellishment. I just drool over everything you make lol. Pxx
