CASE Study...All Things Grow With Love

Morning CASE Study fans! Happy Halloween to all of my American visitors! Today is also our last challenge with super talented Elena Roussakis and this week's inspiration picture is truly...inspiring! First, here's a look at my creation based on her photo below:

Using Maja Design's Vintage Autumn Basics collection, I distressed all paper edges and added a few bows and ribbons to enhance the design. I gleaned the idea of using a banner on Elena's card below and I achieved mine with Verve's Pennant Trim die. The sentiment tag was simply cut out of a sheet of Heritage papers from the Maja line. I also added some of Verve's Pastel Sequin Mix to the tag and the sentiment is also from Verve, this set is called Bloom and Grow
Here's Elena's project:

Want to see how the other CASE Study design team members were inspired?

Zva Creative October DT Blog Hop

Zva Creative and my fellow Design Team members welcome you to our October blog hop. This month we are celebrating fall and Halloween and are excited to be sharing our new work with you! Thanks so much for joining us!
Today's Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative's Facebook pageBe sure head on over to check it out!
Here's a list of participants (in case there is a glitch along the way):

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  If you like what you see along the hop you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.
I decided to go along with a Halloween theme since it is only days away...and my sweet husband happens to love this time of year (I think it's the decorations...and the fun generated by giving some of the Trick or Treaters a bit of scare with our ghouls and monsters around the yard).

In retrospect...this card is very busy. Though there's only 3 colors, there's a lot going on pattern-wise. The spider web is simply a sticker from Jolee's Boutique, the sentiment is stamped from
Verve's Boo to You set and I enhanced the card with the addition of Zva Creative's Symmetrical Flourishes (G)-clear.

If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!
The Blog Hop starts today, October 28th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, October 29th.
***Prizes***
Hidden on FIVE of the designer's blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 30th on Zva Creative's Facebook page!
We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!  To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's Facebook page! Your next stop is Fabi Ormerod. Enjoy!
Thank you for joining us!

New Verve...Happy Birthday

Welcome to our October 2013 Spotlight Hops!  We were so excited to preview Verve's newest stamp sets and dies with you over the last few days. Today the Divas will be shining their Verve spotlights on all the different sets, so stay tuned for a fun inspirational hop... and PRIZES, too! Everything previewed today has become available in the Verve online store as of last night, 10/25. I chose to use Chevron Love and made a Fall-themed birthday card:

I started off with Authentique's Thankful papers and just arranged a bunch of scraps that I had saved from my last project. I distressed all the edges, added a lace bow adorned with a paper flower and some Zva Creative pearls and crystals. For a little interest, I added Verve's Award Banner Trim die to the bottom portion and stuck pearls in the middles of the circles. A little line of Hot Chocolate Liquid Pearls finishes off the sentiment panel.

Want to win some shiny new Verve? We'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win today's featured products...and today is the whole release! So be sure to leave a little comment on all the blogs below to increase your chances! Check out the Verve Blog today for full set reveals and all the prize info and deadlines!

New Verve...Comfort and Joy

Welcome to our October 2013 Spotlight Hops!  We're so excited to preview Verve's newest stamp sets and dies with you! Up until today, the Divas have been shining their Verve spotlights on a different set each day...so glad you stayed tuned for this fun series of inspirational hops... and PRIZES, too! Everything previewed this week will be available in the Verve online store tonight, 10/25. This card I made is more into the Christmas spirit...goodness knows that Christmas will be here before you know it! Here's my sample featuring Unto Us and Reindeer Fun Die Set:

I started off by stamping the decorative border from the new Unto Us set and cutting it out with Verve's previously released Classy Label Die. I then stamped the sentiment in the middle and added some liquid pearls. The ribbon is from Verve's newest addition, the Autumn Elements ribbon collection. I also added a reindeer accent at the bottom...which was stamped with cute little reindeer from Unto Us and heat embossed with white embossing powder, then cut out with the new Reindeer Fun die set.

New Verve...Thanks A Latte

Welcome to our October 2013 Spotlight Hops!  We're so excited to preview Verve's newest stamp sets and dies with you! Over the next few days, the Divas will be shining their Verve spotlights on a different set each day, so stay tuned for a fun series of inspirational hops... and PRIZES, too! Everything previewed this week will be available in the Verve online store Friday night, 10/25. Our featured goodies today are Holiday Cheer stamps and Cup of Cheer Die set, of which I've combined both on this thick, girly card:

Lots of dimension on this card...I frequently get asked...'How do you mail your cards?' This sample would definitely need a small box, which you can pick up at your local UPS store or Post Office. I have to say that I can probably count on one hand how many cards I've made that I could mail in an envelope. Anyway, I started off making a rosette with a scoring board and stylus. I then layered two scalloped circle die cuts and then Verve's Classy Label die (doused in spray glue and breaded with Sterling glitter). Next I added a small strip of Verve's Truly Madly Deeply seam binding and then a matted Mini Classy Label die, stamped with Verve's newest release stamp, Holiday Cheer. The coffee cups underneath are a new die being released this Friday, this one is called Cup of Cheer, and to make the design across the middle, I simply cut out another die cut and just cut a strip across the middle. I then adhered that to the cup and added a little pink gem.

My inspiration for this card is from this week's CASE Study challenge where we're well into our month with Elena Roussakis. Here are her lovely tags below:

New Verve...With Love

Welcome to our October 2013 Spotlight Hops!  We're so excited to preview Verve's newest stamp sets and dies with you! Over the next few days, the Divas will be shining their Verve spotlights on a different set each day, so stay tuned for a fun series of inspirational hops... and PRIZES, too! Everything previewed this week will be available in the Verve online store Friday night, 10/25. I've got a shabby delight to show you today featuring Chevron Love and Heart Quartet Die Set:

My Maja Design's Walking in the Forest paper collection went perfectly with Verve's new Chevron Love stamp set. I also used the featured 'Heart Quartet dies' that are being peeked today as well. Though with mine, I did distress the edges slightly and to give a worn appearance, I dipped my finger in some white craft ink and ever so lightly, blended the white ink onto the blue hearts. I love the look...like a comfy, well-worn pair of denim jeans! The sentiment panel was stamped with the verse, then I dotted the perimeter with some Copper Pearl liquid Pearls. There's a hint of the previously released Award Banner Trim die poking out the bottom...I did try to draw a little more attention to it with the chunky pearls.

Do Not Worry

Happy Monday everyone! Yesterday, the Vintage Card Cafe posted another challenge continuing with their theme of the color spectrum....ROYGBIV...and we're now on violet/purple. This seemed like a great time to pull out my Maja Design's Vintage Spring Basics papers and make a little girly/frilly/pearly card:

The bottom border was made with a corner punch...this one is from our very own blogger-hater Martha Stewart. This one is called Double Arches. I made three punches and then added a pearl to the centers. Then I adhered a strip of lace, a strip of pearls and a polka dot organdy ribbon. I attached two violets the the center of the bow, along with a small twine bow. The sentiment panel was made with Spellbinder's Detailed Scallops die cuts...this shape was pretty long, so I cut it in half, removed a middle section, reglued the panels back together and added a striped panel in the middle to cover any seams. I then stamped my sentiment from Verve's Each Day set...from their latest release.

Have a fantastic day!

Verve's October Diva Dare

Morning blog friends! Verve's monthly Diva Dare challenge is in full swing...this time the theme is called "Tag, You're It!" Your project can either be a tag, or inspired by one. I love to make tags every now and then...I feel like I have much more control over the size of the 'canvas' to fill. I decided, appropriately so, that since it's October, I would go with a Halloween theme. This tag features Verve's Boo to You stamp set, Polka Dot Basics & Summer Sailing Ribbon collections:

Some fabric flowers I purchased when Michael's was having a clearance sale on their Recollection's line:

Both the ghost images and the sentiment are from the Boo to You set:

Here's a close up of those cuties:

CASE Study....Let's Get Together

Happy Thursday CASE Study fans and blog friends! A new inspiration is upon us this week thanks in part to the wonderfully creative Elena Roussakis! Here's her super sweet card invitation, of which I've shamelessly CASEd VERY close to the original:

The wood grain paper is courtesy of Maja Design's Vintage Summer Basics collection...I'm trying my hand at CAS again, here...I merely added a length of Verve's Autumn Elements Ribbon collection seam binding together with a strip of paper, a Tilth Floral die and a button/twine accent. The sentiment is from Verve's Sip and Savor set and I heat embossed it in white against the dark background.
