So Grateful For You

Happy Thursday CASE Study fans! We're into our final week with Muse Jennifer Mcguire and that means that the end of the month is almost upon us! I absolutely adore the summer and am very sad to see it go, however, just looking at Jennifer's card brings a smile to my face! Before I show you her's, here's a look at how I interpreted it:

I gleaned the banner idea and also the gratitude sentiment. The papers are courtesy of Maja Design's Vintage Summer Basics collection and the verse is from Verve's Bountiful Harvest set.

Here's Jennifer's card:

Vintage Card Cafe...Let's Get Together

Morning blog friends! Zva Creative and my fellow Design Team members welcome you to our August blog hop! We are excited happy you are joining us and look forward to sharing our new work with you!
Today's Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative's Facebook pageBe sure head on over to check it out!
Every other week, the Vintage Card Cafe has a new challenge...in recent weeks we've been exploring the colors of the rainbow and today's focus is on the color green! Here's my take on this week's challenge:

Starting off with Maja Design's Vintage Spring Basics...I added some sparkly hydrangea petals, lace, pearls and book page hearts. Some Zva Creative pearl flourishes and liquid pearls complete the look. The sentiment is from Verve's Sip and Savor stamp set.

If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!
The Blog Hop starts today, August 26th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, August 27th.
***Prizes***
Hidden on FIVE of the designer's blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, August 28th on Zva Creative's Facebook pageWe will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to Zva's page on Wednesday to see if you are a winner!
We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!  To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's Facebook page! Your next stop is Windy Robinson. Enjoy!
Thank you for joining us!
P.S. Mark your calendar to join us again on September 30th for our next Zva blog hop!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

August Diva Dare...Pile on the Sweetness

Morning Verve fans! I'm here with this month's Diva Dare entitled "Pile on the Sweetness".
This month's dare pays tribute to myself (EwenStyle), and Diva Christyne (Stampin' with Sugar).  Both of us Divas are known for major layering on our cards,  so what we're daring you to create this month is a card using lots of layers.

If you want to kick this month's dare up a notch, you can add a flower cluster since I am so fond of them AND use them quite often , or go with a "sweet" theme as per Diva Christyne's blog name "Stamping with Sugar".  These are not required elements, but fun options should you wish to use them.  Just remember to use at least one Verve product on your creation!

Here is my card using this month's dare...a la LOTS of layers:
Sooo...maybe I took the layering thing off the grid? Well, as a rule, I don't throw out any paper...down to the smallest of scraps. I keep all of my paper collections in plastic zip-lock bags and as I'm done with a collection, I put all of the scraps into the bag. So here, for Maja Design's Vintage Summer collection, I pulled out all those strips that I have saved and added them to this card, after I distressed them a bit. This technique works well with all card making styles, not just shabby. I used Verve's Swirling Hearts stamp for my greeting, a bit of pearl accent in the form of pearl lines and stamens and lastly a pretty metal flower.

Deadline to link your cards is 8PM Mountain on Wednesday, August 28th.  Entries must be new (posted 8/9 or later), include at least one Verve product, include multiple layers, and be linked up to the linky widget by 8pm Mountain on 8/28/13.
During this month's Diva Dare, there are 2 prizes up for grabs!

Win a $40 Gift voucher to Verve Stamps! Take our "Pile on the Sweetness" Dare and link up your card (created August 9th or later) to the linky widget below to be eligible to win.  One participant will be randomly selected to win the gift voucher.  You can enter as many times as you like, but each card needs to be in a separate post.

Win a set of your choice! For another chance to win some new Verve, leave a little comment love on our design team's "Pile on the Sweetness" Diva Dare posts! One lucky commenter will win a Verve stamp set of his or her choice, so be sure to tune in each day!  Comment deadline to be entered in our prize drawing is August 28, 2013.

Winners will be announced on August 29, 2013.

Here's the stamp set I used:

And the paper collection:

CASE Study...Each Day Is A Gift

Hello CASE Study fans! We've got another totally inspirational card from our current muse, Jennifer McGuire, to dazzle you! Jennifer's designs are all perfectly executed, perfectly balanced and perfectly wonderful! Here's my take on this week's sample:

I removed all color, but opted for the willowy, stamped background. This card features Sweet 'N Sassy stamp's Celebrate Today set. I dabbed some Platinum Stickles on the flower heads to give them a bit of sparkle. :)

Here's Jennifer's colorful card:

You & Me...Meant To Be

Morning Maja friends! Last week was my turn to post over on the Maja Design blog...I posted these cards that I made while I was away at a 'girl's scrapbooking' weekend:

I haven't had much mojo lately with my hectic work schedule, so it was nice to create (and have something actually make it's way to becoming a card!) Both of these cards feature Maja Design papers, the first one is from the Walking in the Forest collection and the second one uses Ska vi ta en fika.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

I've Been Thinking About You

Hello CASE Study fans! Its Analise here (: Writing mom's posts! Hope you all enjoy this card that we made at like 10 at night.. Anyways, ENJOY!!

We were inspired by Jennifer's colors on her card and we decided to add some turquoise Ric rack ribbon and lots of texture! We also added some lace ribbons and a red flower to make it POP. We also added some green to give it just a little more color.. Didn't want it to be dull.
Here's the card that inspired us to make this gorgeous one:

Vintage Card Cafe...Here's the Blues

Good morning blog friends! Sunday marks a new challenge over at the Vintage Card Café...this week we're working the blues! I've paired some beautiful Zva Creative crystal flourishes with some vintage Maja Design Crea Diem papers to come up with this:

Starting off with distressing the Crea Diem papers, I then added a Whimsey die, followed by a rosette design, then a soft, blue bow and some paper flowers. The sentiment is from Verve's All About You set and it's stamped on a Flag It die. I added some coarse glitter to the edges of the rosette die and then added the Zva crystal flourish.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Stamps: All About You (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Crea Diem collection (Blomstra, Fylld av kärlek-bs) Maja Design, Early Espresso, Natural White, Bashful Blue (SU!)

CASE Study...Flowers Abound

Hello CASE Study fans! We're continuing the 3 year birthday celebration with a very special Muse on board....Jennifer McGuire! How exciting is that?! I've seen Jennifer's name plastered all over the 'card making' Internet and am always amazed at the innovative and creative designs she comes up with and today's inspiration piece is no different! First, here's how I interpreted it followed by her original design:

I have no idea how Jennifer did that stamping....if it even is stamping so I decided to CASE the colors of her card, though with a different medium...my favorite...flowers! I have all of my flowers arranged by color, so I meticulously chose a color from each bin, careful to have each one have a bit of sparkle to it. Then I glued them on starting from the bottom...largest to smallest. I then added some Zva Creative crystal flourishes and stamped my sentiment. The outside perimeter was scored with a Martha Stewart scoring board. The sweet sentiment is courtesy of Verve's Let it Be set.

 Here's Jennifer's card:

For today's card, I pulled out Verve's inspiring So Fluttery set and pairing it with some Maja papers, this is what I've done with it:

The color theme is courtesy of Maja Design's Sofiero collection. A little roughing up of some edges contrasted with the delicateness of the crystals and flowers provides the perfect balance of shabby and chic.  I stamped the 'amazing' greeting on paper cut out with Verve's 'Flag It Die set' from the A Cut Above die series.

My design is based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch, here:

Wow...it's hard to believe that 3 years ago, Chupa sent me an email asking me if I'd like to help her launch her new challenge blog, CASE Study! Of course I was in...how could I not? What a great way to derive inspiration from some of the master card makers out there! So I'm pleased to participate in this year's festivities...a blog hop featuring past Muses and current/former Design Team members! Our inspiration for these creations are are up to us...I've chosen a picture that I pinned onto my 'Card Inspiration' Pinterest board...for obvious reasons! Here's how I was inspired by this beautiful photo:

  • The theme for the Blog Hop is Inspiration. Pick anything that inspires you as of late (be it of Pinterest source, a piece of clothing, magazine ad, a fellow crafter... you get the vibe) and design something around it. Any paper crafting project is fine.

Paper Sweeties' August Sketch Inspiration

Happy August friends! Being that it's the first of the month, the Paper Sweeties want to get you mojo juices flowing with a little sketch! I personally like when part of the creative process is handed to me...then I can pick up and run with it! This month's sketch is a fun one...here's what I've done with it...followed by the design itself:

I used Paper Sweeties' 'Hand Stamped By:' set for the sentiment and the papers are just a mix of some cast-offs from my 'A Ladies' Diary' collection by Graphic45. I added some distressing and just a bit of lace for the scalloped shape.

Here's our August sketch:

It’s as easy as 1-2-3 to create, share and win:
1. Create a card or project based on the current Sweeties Sketch Inspiration graphic using any of your favorite crafty goodies! You’ll get an extra vote if you use ANYTHING from the Paper Sweeties Shop!!  Use the sketch as a starting point for your project — flip it, change the shapes … most important — HAVE FUN and let our sketch spark your creativity!
2. Post a DIRECT LINK to your project in our Inlinkz gallery — please use the URL to your actual project post (not your entire blog) so we can easily find your creation. You do not need to have a blog to enter — you can use any online gallery such as Flickr, PinterestFacebook or Splitcoast Stampers(keyword papersweeties)!  You can pin your Paper Sweeties creations directly to our Friends of Paper Sweeties Pinterest Board to contribute!
3. LINK back to the Paper Sweeties' blog post so your readers can easily find it!
The sketch challenge runs for the entire month. You can play along as many times as you wish — the more times you play, the more chances you have to win! The challenges will end at 12 pm EST on the last day of each month. The new sketch will be revealed on the 1st of each month. The winner of the previous month’s sketch challenge will be announced on the 1st of each new month, will win a $20 gift certificate to the shoppe and will be invited to Guest Design with the Sweeties next month!
