Vintage Card Cafe Challenge...Visiting the Nordic Countries

Good Sunday morning peeps! Today marks a new challenge at the Vintage Card Cafe...we're exploring the traditions of far away places...and we're starting with those cold, Nordic countries, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Now I'm familiar with some of the styles of Sweden as my most favorite pattern papers, Maja Design papers, come from there. Our assignment? To make a card featuring one, or more, of the following elements: Scandanavian embroidery (knitting item), Scandanavian patterns, straw (raffia), straw toys, deer, wooden ornaments, flashlights, fireplaces (hearth, fire), angels, wreathes. Here is my sample with a sweet ephemeral angel and a raffia bow:

The background paper is Maja Design's Deck the Halls paper from their It's Christmas Time line of papers. I added a crocheted frame and an angel in the middle. The edges are distressed and then I outlined the perimeter with some Zva Creative pearl lines. The flowers are from the $1 bin at Michael's...they just needed a little fluffing up. I added a raffia bow and two jingle bells in coordinating colors. The sentiment is from Verve's latest release, this set is called Holiday Treats.
Make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team has created by visiting this site here.
Have a great day and enjoy the rest of the weekend!
