New Verve Spotlight Hops...Poppy Birthday

Welcome to our September 2013 Spotlight Hops!  We're so excited to share some new Verve with you! Each day this week, the Divas will be shining their Verve spotlights on a different set, so stay tuned for a week filled with inspiration! Everything previewed this week will be available in the Verve online store on Friday, 9/27. Today we're featuring Poppy Birthday stamps set, along with a coordinating new die...Build a Poppy. So what did I do? I built a Poppy! Take a look:

My inspiration for today's card comes from CASE Study's current challenge...we're gleaning from super creative Muse Kathy Racoosin. I chose to emulate her design and the faux stitching around the perimeter. I changed up the colors, stamps and sentiment. I made my own background paper with this new stamp set. There are different sized poppies and leaves for more versatility. The red poppy was cut out using the new 'Build a Poppy' die set.

Here's another...a little more shabbied up:

This one uses Maja Design's newest collection, Vintage Autumn Basics. This sentiment is also included in the Poppy Birthday set. My design is based on this week's Mojo Monday.
