Vintage Card Cafe Challenge....Pinterest Inspired

Happy Sunday everyone! Today I'm posting a card I made for the Vintage Card Cafe's biweekly challenge. Our mission is to be inspired by Pinterest...any image that resonates with you, moves you...basically sparks creativity! Since there are about a gazillion photos on Pinterest, I went to one of my boards that I have labeled 'Card Inspiration'. Seemed like a good place to start. I found this vintage photo pictured below and made this card based on it:

The photo below was taken in my craft room beside the window. Sometimes the sun shines directly on my favorite windowsill spot so unless it's cloudy or before 10am or after 6pm I have to find another spot:

Here's a dimension-view:

I punched out a heart from a cereal box, Modge-Podged it and then added the same size heart made with a book page. I painted the whole thing with Modge Podge, sprinkled a bit of glitter on it, then added the words, which are from Verve's Twitterpated set. I was looking for type-set letters and these fit the bill perfectly. The last thing I did with the heart was meticulously add Zva Creative Taupe pearl hearts around the perimeter. While that was drying, I set about making the rest of the card which consists of a Maja Design's 'It's Christmas Time' background paper, lace adorned the edges, a piece of burlap, a half of a doily, a wooden heart, a resin thingy and some paper flowers tied with a jute bow. Here's the photo that inspired me:

Here's the Verve set I used:

Stamps: Twitterpated (Verve Stamps)
Paper: It's Christmas Time collection (Christmas thoughts) Maja Design
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: CRW-04CB-139 (Dots-Pearl Taupe 0.3cm & 0.5cm) Zva Creative, lace, cereal box, Hearts a Plenty die (MFT), paper flowers & wooden floral circle (Kaisercraft), old book page, burlap, resin charm, doily, paper distresser, Modge Podge, glitter, twine
Size: 4 1/4" X 5 1/2"

  1. Andrea - This is simply gorgeous! I think my favorite part is the burlap. Its shabby and classy all at once. I love the detail you put into the heart! Great job!
