Sweet as Sugar

Hello blog friends! I had a chance to catch up with some challenges this morning...I kicked my mojo into high gear to participate with this week's Mojo Monday and combo-ing it with The Shabby Tea Room's inspiration photo and some cute Paper Sweeties' stamps:

Lots of drying time...which does not bode well for my patience level :)
I cut out the scalloped ovals and then punched out the middles with a regular oval. I stamped the sentiment from Paper Sweeties' You Are Fabulous set, painted over both shapes/sentiment pieces with some Modge Podge and then sprinkled some glitter over them. On the inside perimeter of the scalloped pieces, I outlined a ring of Silver Stickles (which take FOREVER to dry) and then dotted the scallops with Bisque Liquid Pearls. While they were drying, I made the base by distressing all panels and inking up the edges. I added a length of daisy chain lace and dotted the middles with pearls. I then carefully cut up some dimensionals to make them smaller and added them to the outside ring of the inner ovals. I laid the scalloped circle down, and then added my flower/jute accent. Oh, and there are some pearls at the bottom, too.

Here's the sketch for Mojo Monday:

Inspiration pic from the Shabby Tea Room...we're to use green, yellow and cream along with polka dots and flowers:

Just for fun, I walked into the living room yesterday and saw my daughter and our cat Pickles striking the same pose. I couldn't help snap a picture of these two silly girls:

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!
