Miss You

Happy Wednesday! Just for fun, I made a card for obligation, no pattern, no purpose other than to enjoy crafting. These are just a few of my favorite things...pretty papers, lace, seam binding, doilies, hand-stitching...

Here's the Verve set I used:

I used a square of 5th of April and distressed all the edges. I then added a doily and vertical panel of 4th of April followed by a smaller strip of 7th of April and yet a smaller still strip of the backside of the 7th of April. I cut the post card out of a sheet of Days to Remember and distressed those edges as well. I then added the scrunched seam binding (from one of my 'experiments' in dying my own), raffia, stick pins and a gem. The sentiment is from Verve's You and I set and I stamped that on a banner shape, distressed the edges and sewed it onto the card with an XX pattern. I decided after it was all done to sew the outside edge, so I paper pierced and hand sewed the exposed perimeter. That's all...just for fun.
Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

  3. Always fun to make a card just to make a card :) Lovely touch of distressing and goodies you love.

  4. A beautiful shabby creation Andrea!!

  5. Very beautiful and frilly! love it Andrea

  6. This is yet another gorgeous creation.

Just a small note. I love how you take your photos ; the staging is lovely. However, I always have to click on your photos to enlarge them because of that. Especially since you enabled the mobile version of your blog which doesn't allow two finger zooming on iPhones. Instead, it thinks I'm trying to swipe to see your previous post. I don't know how others feel but I'd prefer you disable the mobile version for this reason since I don't think you should change how you take your pictures. Firstly, they are too lovely. Secondly, it wouldn't be my place to ask that anyway. But maybe you could ask for a general consensus as to whether other mobile users prefer the desktop version or the mobile version? Just a thought... In case you aren't aware, it shows only the post without side bars but it is simple enough to double tap the text or a photo to zoom in on what you want to see closer. On an iPhone anyway.

  7. Yeah for you....making a card for fun!! Love the soft colors and raffia adds the perfect touch of color!!

  8. It's a beautiful card! I love those soft colors and really love the postcard paper. Gorgeous ribbon too. It IS such a joy to craft for no purpose and because you have a little extra time.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I always enjoy reading them and appreciate the kind words!
