It's Your Birthday

It's a funny thing...with the hundreds of cards I have floating around my craft room...I had a real hard time finding a birthday card for someone who requested one. That's odd I thought, how could I not have any birthday cards? Well, I seem to make lots of cards with fun, cute, meaningful & heartfelt phrases and sentiments but birthday is apparently a low priority. I'm going to work on changing that starting with this card here:

Last week I had a chance to participate in the Featured Stamper segment at Splitcoast Stampers. I CASEd this card here by Lin. While keeping the birthday and neutral theme, I changed up the stamps, design and I added an inked up embossed panel as well. I opened the folder, smeared a layer of Walnut Stain distress ink around the 'negative' side, meaning the side where the design is recessed. I then ran the folder through my Big Kick and the ink transferred to the raised portion, which ironically shows up as the recessed portion on my card. The sentiment is courtesy of Verve's Big Wish set.

Stamps: Big Wish (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Confetti White, Early Espresso (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Cocoa (CTMH), Walnut Stain distress ink (Ranger)
Accessories: Abstract Flower border punch (EK Success), Walnut seam binding (Martha Stewart), metal charm, Dark Chocolate & Platinum Liquid Pearls (Ranger), Ovals, Floral Ovals & Labels Eighteen Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Flowers Lattice embossing folder (Sizzix), Chocolate Spica pen, twine, dimensionals
Size: 4 1/4" X 5 1/2"
