CASE Study...Happy Thoughts

Hello friends! This week's posts seem to be loaded with CAS cards, however, I can assure you that I have not jumped to the other side of the fence, shabby and feminine will always be my first love and I'm going to be making a concerted effort to get some of those creations going here. But for now at CASE Study, we're CASEing JJ Bolton, a CAS virtuoso and this week's card is really something to see! Here's my take on it with her's pictured below:

This card reminds me of a beautiful stained glass window that you would see in a church. I simply cut out 7 La Rue Heart designs, one each in red, yellow, purple, green, blue, black and white. The white was the template so I kept the design aside and just used the negative. I glued up a whole panel and attached that to the back of the negative. I then placed the black heart design in the negative space and with the other 5 colors, I picked out certain sections and filled them in. Just to save you time if you are inclined to try this, don't punch out the pieces until you are ready to use them. Initially I had pulled all the pieces out and it turned into big jigsaw puzzle to find the right coordinating pieces to fill in my design. That, was a do-over for me. Lastly I stamped the sentiment from Verve's With Love set.

Here's JJ's card:

Here's the stamp set I used:

Here's the list of the other ladies' blog:

and our April Guestie:

Here's the down-low on CASE Study's challenge:
1. Create a paper crafting project (card, layout, off-the-page item), based on provided inspiration (being a featured creation, made by our Muse).
2. Post your creation on your blog or an online gallery (using a code CSC136), and link it to the CASE Study blog with the inlinkz widget. Please provide a direct link to your post, not an entire blog.
3. A new challenge is being posted every Thursday at 12.01 AM EST, and you've got until midnight on Tuesday to submit your entry.
4. You may enter as many times as you like, but you're asked to provide a newly designed project.
5. We will choose authors of the four most impressive creations, who will be awarded the Winner and Top 3 awards. In addition, there might be a person chosen randomly from the list of players, who will receive the prize provided by the sponsor - if there is one.
We will announce the winners on Wednesday.
6. Above all, have fun - and be inspired!
