CASE Study...So Happy For You

Morning all! It's time for another challenge over at CASE Study with our Muse Julie Ebersole! This week's card really got my wheels 'a turnin'...I mostly have a hard time with CAS, but I stuck to my guns and prevailed...no fluff, no lace, no distressing/paper shredding and only one lone pearl. I started with an idea in my mind and my mind just went off with it:

I wanted to use the negative die cut idea that is displayed so well on Julie's card. However, I don't own any cloud or even any 'cute' dies like that, mine are all doilys, flourishes and tags (surprised?). So I cut out a Tilth Floral die from Kraft, which happens to be the main panel. Then I cut out both a black and a white floral die. I added dimentionals to the main kraft panel and attached it to the base. Then I added the white die cut (with a dimensional in the middle). Next I added the petal cut-outs from the black piece. That required some finageling as once I dropped them through the design, they didn't land exactly where they should have. I simply used my paper piercer to align them. After that I added the black floral design, staggered from the white design, and secured it with a pink pearl. Unfortunately, this is when I decided on my sentiment and if you've ever tried to stamp on a popped up panel...the outcome is usually not good. However, I was able to stamp Verve's So Happy cleanly. It still needed something (this is where my compulsion usually takes over) so I dotted some Black Viva Decor liquid pearls around the perimeter. Ah, such long instructions for such a simple looking card!

Here's a picture so that you can see the dimension:

Here's the list of the other ladies' blog:
Teneale Williams
and our March Guestie:

Here's the down-low on CASE Study's challenge:
1. Create a paper crafting project (card, layout, off-the-page item), based on provided inspiration (being a featured creation, made by our Muse).
2. Post your creation on your blog or an online gallery (using a code CSC133), and link it to the CASE Study blog with the inlinkz widget. Please provide a direct link to your post, not an entire blog.
3. A new challenge is being posted every Thursday at 12.01 AM EST, and you've got until midnight on Tuesday to submit your entry.
4. You may enter as many times as you like, but you're asked to provide a newly designed project.
5. We will choose authors of the four most impressive creations, who will be awarded the Winner and Top 3 awards. In addition, there might be a person chosen randomly from the list of players, who will receive the prize provided by the sponsor - if there is one.
We will announce the winners on Wednesday.
6. Above all, have fun - and be inspired!

  7. Awesome card Andrea! Always love your work!!!
Can you help me find the fine line dies you use with your cards? Most are too bulky for my style. Thanks for your inspiration!
