CASE Study...One Layer Wonder

I don't think that I can recall in recent or distant memory ever making a card that was one layer...until today. At CASE Study, we're gleaning wonderful inspiration from Julie Ebersole, who happens to be a CAS master and who is also helping me to stretch my CAS wings. Here's a card that I made with an old Stampin' Up! set (I had to blow the dust off of this one) but this is one set that so reminds me of Easter, so I dug it out:

This is another one of those cards that was so simple to make, I'm almost embarrassed by it. All I did was some 'two-step stamping' with the Terrific Tulips set, the lighter blue is CTMH's Indian Corn blue and the navy is Outdoor Denim. I just added the stems in Garden Green and dotted the perimeters with a white pigment ink pen. I stamped the sentiment from Verve's Celebration of Thanks set and paper pierced the perimeter. Oh, yeah...I also rounded the corner, like Julie's card. So basically I used the theme, colors and rounded edge but changed up the stamps. Eek...a bit too close to the original. :)

Here's Julie's lovely card:

Here's the Verve set I used:

Here's the down-low on CASE Study's challenge:
1. Create a paper crafting project (card, layout, off-the-page item), based on provided inspiration (being a featured creation, made by our Muse).
2. Post your creation on your blog or an online gallery (using a code CSC134), and link it to the CASE Study blog with the inlinkz widget. Please provide a direct link to your post, not an entire blog.
3. A new challenge is being posted every Thursday at 12.01 AM EST, and you've got until midnight on Tuesday to submit your entry.
4. You may enter as many times as you like, but you're asked to provide a newly designed project.
5. We will choose authors of the four most impressive creations, who will be awarded the Winner and Top 3 awards. In addition, there might be a person chosen randomly from the list of players, who will receive the prize provided by the sponsor - if there is one.
We will announce the winners on Wednesday.
6. Above all, have fun - and be inspired!
