Heartfelt Creations...Tag Collection

Welcome to Heartfelt Creation's Wednesday! Heartfelt Creations has so many wonderful stamps, full of beautiful flowers, gorgeous backgrounds and original designs. I wanted to make up a project that would incorporate a lot of these designs into one creation. And, as some of you know, although the time-sucker that Pinterest is, you can really get some good ideas from it. I saw some beautiful tags and thought that I could make up a collection of tags, or even bookmarks (uh, yeah...none of my tags would last 2 minutes in a book due to their dimension, but that's where I was going with that). Anyway, here is a collection of 6 tags that I made up using all Heartfelt Creations stamps:

Instructions for tag pictured above:
Cut Early Espresso base to 3" X 5 1/2". Cut a piece of white card stock to 2 7/8" X 5 3/8" and rub anti-static embossing bag over paper. Press Bella Rose Vase PreCut Set leaf design into Versamark watermark pad and then stamp paper twice. Sprinkle clear embossing powder over design and tap off excess. Hold paper carefully under heat gun to set the powder. Using a sponge dauber, lightly sponge Walnut Stain distress ink over the entire design, concentrating heavily on the outlined shapes. Add Walnut seam binding across middle, tie bow with leaf accent. Die cut a Nestabilities Maple Leaf design and sponge the middle lightly with Frayed Burlap distress ink while the paper is still in the die. Stamp sentiment onto middle and attach panel to tag. Punch a hole in the top and add white seam binding bow.

Instructions for tag pictured above:
Cut a 2" X 5 1/2" piece of white card stock for base. Cut another piece of white card stock down to 1 7/8" X 5 3/8" and using same embossing steps listed above, emboss Daisy Patch Background PreCut Set onto the paper. Sponge Tea Dye distress ink around the paper. Add a strip of Ecru lace to bottom and add a seam binding bow. Attach a silver heart tied with some Natural Jute twine. Stamp sentiment onto piece of white paper, cut out words and delicately sponge edges with distress ink. Attach to tag. Punch hole in the top and add Peach Fizz seam binding bow.

Instructions for tag pictured above:
Cut a 2 1/2" X 5 1/2" piece of white card stock and using the embossing steps listed in first post, emboss Stained Glass Background PreCut Set. Sponge design with alternating colors, pink, purple, blue and yellow. Add edge of doily and tie a silk bow around the middle. Add decorative stick pins and senitment stamped in a circle Nestability. Cut border using Martha Stewart's Double Loops corner & border punch, then attach to embossed panel. Punch hole in the top and add yellow seam binding bow.

Instructions for the tag pictured above:
Cut white card stock to 2 5/8" X 5 1/2". Cut another panel to 2 1/2" X 5 3/8" and using same embossing steps listed above, emboss Classic Rose PreCut Set vine design. Sponge background with Bundled Sage distress ink. Add crocheted lace, green grosgrain ribbon bow and felt heart sticker. Stamp sentiment onto white card stock, punch out using a Word Window punch, sponge edges and attach to card. Punch hole in top of card and add white seam binding bow.

Instructions for tag pictured above:
Cut Kraft background panel down to 3" X 5 1/2". Cut another panel out of white card stock measuring 2 7/8" X 5 3/8" and using the embossing steps listed in the first post, emboss the Bella Rose Vintage Background PreCut Set. Sponge Tattered Rose, Bundle Sage and Weathered Wood distress inks in a random fashion over the design. Add white seam binding bow with pink button adorned with a Ivory jute bow. Add pearl flourishes, punch hole in the top of tag and add seam binding bow.

Instructions for tag pictured above:
Cut white card stock base down to 3 1/4" X 5 1/2" and then another white panel to 3 1/8" X 5 3/8". Emboss smaller panel with Shabby Chic Lace PreCut Set using technique listed in Tag 1's instructions. Sponge design with Vintage Photo distress ink. To make paper flowers, stamp 2 large & 4 small Carnations florals and cut out. Sponge both sides with distress ink and lightly curl up edges with paper piercer. Take two small flowers and add glue to petals and center & fold up. Add first rolled up flower to second and roll that up too. then add to the last 2 small flowers that have been attached to each other in a staggered fashion. Add this to the 2 large flowers, also adhered in a staggered fashion. Adhere flower to lace bow and then to tag. Stamp Butterfly from ButterFly and Lilies PreCut set onto white cardstock, color with Prismacolor pencils and cut out. Attach to tag base. Add pearl flourishes, punch hole in top and add seam binding bow.

Here is the group, held together by a key ring.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Sketch For You To Try...Hello

I know, post overload....I'm sorry, but I have to fit in Jen's Sketch For You To Try for February...I waited until the last minute...ack! I decided to make a very pink (think Pepto), very girly card with some fabulous flowers I found in A.C. Moore's wedding dept:

I flipped the sketch 90° and basically buried the beautiful crochet lace trim and pleated satin ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel under those flowers. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse's Fancy Phrases set and the die cut is a Memory Box die called Quinn Flourish. I'm pretty sure the paper is retired, it's an old Stampin' Up! Designer series paper, Tea Party.

Here's Jen's design for February:

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Stamps: Fancy Phrases (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
Paper: Tea Party dsp, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White (SU!)
Ink: Pretty In Pink (SU!), Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: 1.5" White Crochet Ribbon, 5/8" Pink Satin Pleated Ribbon, (Ribbon Carousel), flowers (A.C. Moore), Quinn Flourish die (Memory Box), Curved Rectangles Nestability (Spellbinders), dauber, dimensionals, corner rounder

Ribbon Carousel...Corner Adornment Tutorial

Good morning! I've got a card to share with you today using the Ribbon Carousel's challenge posted for today...Anything Goes! A little background on how I came up with this card...during my scrapbooking getaway weekend (I don't scrapbook, though)...sometimes I'll just sit around and watch other ladies busily making beautiful books for their treasured memories and then lightbulb! I'm hit with an idea! What if I were to cut apart a Nestability and use it for my own diabolical purposes? Or maybe make a card with the pieces? This is the result of my experimentation:

To start, you need black card stock, the largest size Fleur De Lis Rectangle (Spellbinders), scissors, pearls and cutting board (not pictured):

After die cutting the Fleur De Lis shape, align the die on your cutting board like shown:

Repeat this process on the other side of the shape:

With scissors, carefully make the same cut 90° from the first cut:

Repeat on other side:

Now you can add any decorative pearls (or not) and adhere to the corners of your card:

And voilà! My card is also featuring some lovely 7/8" Black/Ivory Check Ribbon available at the Ribbon Carousel website:

This week's challenge is being sponsored by Avocado Arts, who is graciously supplying prizes to TWO winners, each will receive one of their SUPER cute new stamp sets.

***Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

We'd love for you to join us this week! Here are the details:
  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge of the week. Any submissions made prior to the challenge date will be deleted. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, (use the keyword RCC42) with a direct link back to THIS post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! (A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!)
  • Link up your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up, but don't worry, it will appear shortly.
  • Come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool!

Zva Creative February DT Blog Hop

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcome you to join us for our February Blog Hop! We are happy to have you join us today today!

The Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative's NEW blog! Be sure head on over if you'd like to start from the top of the hop. You will also find a complete list of all the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.  If you like what you see you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE. Each month, a designer is given a color scheme to work with, and this month I'm working with Iridescent & Purple (Grape and/or Lavender). I found these sweet wooden letters at A.C. Moore and since my daughter's name is Analise, I picked out this "A" and prettied it up a bit:

Here's a close-up of the focal piece, lots of beautiful new flowers introduced by Zva Creative at CHA :

Products used on this project:
FL-04CA-130 (2.5" Dual- Flowers - Orange & Purple)
FL-04CA-112 (36pc leaves #I - 1")
CRS-05CA-108 (Flourish IV - Lavender Crystal & Pearl)
CR-05CA-110 (Imagine - Lavender Crystal & Pearl)
FLBK-03CB-110 (mini rose (144 stems) -1/2" or 12mm)
(Lavender Transition flowers, 35mm)

If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!
Hidden on FIVE of the designer's blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.
The Blog Hop starts today, February 27th and runs through 11:59pm US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, February 28th.
The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, February 1st on each of the five winning blogs. The full list of where our winners will be posted will be found on Zva's blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!  To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on Facebook or "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.
* Comment to let us know that your "liked" our new page on Facebook or that you have started following Zva on Twitter.

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's NEW blog. Your next stop is Christin Grønnslett. Enjoy!

Thank you for joining us!

P.S. Mark your calendar to join us again on March 26th for our next Zva blog hop!

Mojo Monday...Everything's Going to be Okay

Hello blog friends...my Monday would not be complete without getting a little sketchy with Mojo Monday. What a great design that Julee has come up with, I loved pairing it with the newly released Plain Jane from Verve called Be Okay. Straight and to the point, just like I'm going to be today:

A mish mash of elements from my beloved "junk drawer"...not really...I should call it my treasure drawer. I added a fabric flower, pearls on a stick, small picks from the wedding dept at A.C. Moore and a little crocheted flower that I've been obsessed with of late. I plan on making a ton of these and maybe selling small packages of them here on my website. I've also included some pretty lace trim, burlap ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel and a Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch.
That's all from me today...hope you have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Vintage Birthday

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm back from a weekend getaway with my cardmaking pal Stephanie...we were at the ScrapAway GetAway in Ocean City, NJ. We had lots of fun, met some wonderful new people, connected with fabulous friends and just had an all around great time! We were both able to get our craft on, Stephanie made 13 cards (!) and I made about 8. I was also able to make some of the cutest little vintage lace blooms...I'll show you those later. Anyway, here is one of the cards I made when I first got there:

This card was made with some vintage lace (thanks, Samara), a Memory box scroll die, gems, flowers, pearls...you know, all the stuff I love. The inner sentiment panel was hand stitched (since it was too much trouble to lug my sewing machine along). I was also able to make some masculine cards this weekend, too...I have to tell you that I am so thrilled with the way they came out, I'll be posting them soon.
Now for the daunting job of unpacking...yuck.
Before I go, I just want to send out a special thanks to Lila and Charrise for making this weekend so much fun! Three days goes by so fast, I'm already looking forward to next year's event! And thanks to all of the thoughtful and kind people I met at the crop, what a fabulous group of women! Until next year!
Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

A Friend Loves At All Times

Hello and good Thursday morning! I have to say that I've been a bit short on Mojo this last week or so, I haven't really had any time to craft, nor have I had any type of wealth of creativity. So today, I'm posting a card that I made last year during my Dirty Dozen tenure at SplitcoastStampers. A bit of neutral tones, vintage and shabby accents...a style that makes me happy!
My friend Stephanie and I are going away this weekend to the Scrap Away Getaway in Ocean City, NJ. Almost 72 hours of uninterrupted craft time, we'll see if I can find some mojo there.
Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Heartfelt Creations...May God Comfort You

It's Wednesday, which means that it's time for me to show you another card featuring Heartfelt Creations stamps! I chose to go monotone on this card, it's more sympathy based and flashy colors don't really go. I even went so far as to water color the lilies with some Walnut stain distress ink. I can't say that I've ever seen brown lilies in the wild, but they'll do for my card:

Here are the instructions to make this card:

Score and fold a 5 1/2" X 11" piece of vintage cream card stock. Score edges at 1/8" & 3/8" around perimeter of base. Add pearl lines, with larger pearls at each corner. Cut a 4 1/2" X 4 1/2" panel of patterned paper and to that add a Decorative Window Scene die and a Labels One Nestability that has been stamped with the Twining Clematis PreCut set and the Cross & Lilies PreCut set sentiment. Water color flowers with Walnut Stain (on inside of flowers) and Pumice Stone ink as shading around the flowers. Dot centers of flowers with Platinum Liquid Pearls. Sponge edges of perimeter with Walnut Stain ink. Feed organdy ribbon through the window die cut and the patterned paper and tie off into a bow. Add metal accent brad. Attach decorative panel to base with dimensionals. Adorn with pearl flourishes.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Stamps: HCPC3454 Twining Clematis PreCut Set, HCPC3450 Cross and Lilies PreCut Set (Heartfelt Creations)
Paper: Vintage Timeless dp (Kaisercraft), Vintage Cream card stock
Ink: Walnut Stain, Pumice Stone distress inks (Ranger), Versafine Onyx Black

Mojo Monday...Surprise Hop for Julee!

Hi and welcome to this very special edition of Mojo Monday...in the form of a surprise blog hop for Julee! You should have arrived here from Jen Tapler's blog. There is a complete list of hoppers on Teresa's blog if there's a break along the way. Some of you may know, or not know that Julee Tilman, owner/illustrator of Verve Stamps, brains and talent behind Mojo Monday and Queen Diva of card making in my opinion...is pregnant with twins! And due next month! So us Verve Divas and Mojo Makers paired up to honor her with some card goodness and friendly advice as she ventures onto this next new, exciting phase of her life!  First I'll show you my card, with some close-ups and then onto my pearls of wisdom on motherhood:

I could only find one baby image...I know that there are two coming, though!

I initially used some green liquid pearls that I TOTALLY misjudged the colors on, so I put some other pearls on top of the icky ones:

Eww...you can see the green really well in this one:

Mojo Monday sketch:

As far as the advice goes, this should sum it up:

(photo courtesy of Baby Brewing...it's what's going on inside)
Haha...seriously, Julee...the one thing that I can't stress enough is to take A LOT OF PICTURES! You think you'll always remember them the way they are, but it turns out that time goes by so fast...you don't even realize it.
Now for some more crafty inspiration and pearls (of wisdom) it's onto Debbie Carriere's blog!

And some more sage words....A day goes on forever, but the years fly by. It's true...believe me. :)
Best of luck to you and Mark...I know that you two will make wonderful parents!

Love,

Viva La Verve...Smile

Welcome to this week's Viva La Verve sketch! Laurie has come up with a beautiful design for us to use this week, only one more to go after this one and there will be a sweet prize up for grabs! Before I get too ahead of myself, here's my card based on Laurie's sketch, pictured below:

The sketch for this week:

I had one of those flowers that I had made a few days ago left over, so I thought I would put it to good use on my card. I hand stitched around the Jotted Heart die for a little homespun look. Another monochromatic card, I just wasn't feeling the colors today....maybe tomorrow? We'll see.

Here are rules regarding the Viva La Verve sketches:
Every Friday, a Diva will post a sketch for your enjoyment. Your cards, using the sketches, must be uploaded to Splitcoast Stamper's Viva La Verve forum by the last Thursday of the month (check for the due date below!) The winner will be announced on the next day and will win a $100 gift certificate to VERVE! How awesome is that?! Just a reminder, Verve stamps are NOT required but we love to see you use them. Feel free to flip, rotate, resize, or otherwise alter the sketch as long as we can tell you USED the sketch!
Have a great weekend!

So Thankful For You

Good Thursday morning! I have a card that I made, a card full of flowers and soft, girly goodness...just the way I like them! I used Jen Shults' Deconstructed Sketch as my starting point:

In addition to a garden full of flowers, I also used buku (correct spelling beaucoup...but loses something in translation ;) ribbons, some from the Ribbon Carousel as well. And tons of pearls and rhinestones courtesy of Zva Creative. I'm a little low on chit chat right now, so I'm gonna make this short and sweet.

Here's Jen's sketch:

The sentiment panel was made using two of the Fancy Tags Three Nestabilities shapes, then criss crossed and taped together. I then layered two Nestie circles on top of that and added the Ribbon Banner shape.
Well, that's all from me today....thanks for visiting and have a great day!
