The Gift is in the Giving

Good Monday morning! My schedule is somewhat getting back to normal after our not so nice visit from Hurricane Sandy. Luckily the stars aligned for me today so that I could make a card that fits into a bunch of challenges, and I hope, without looking like I struggled to fit them all in. :) :

I started off with some beautiful Maja Design papers, this collection is called Vintage Summer Basics. Lots of lovely floral prints, text designs and scuffed up edges...all my favorites! I made the collage panel using Splitcoast Stampers current 'Try a New Technique' challenge...Paper Mosaic. I cut out a kraft panel and then the floral panel. The floral panel was cut up into squares, and placed on the kraft sheet after I painted it with some Modge Podge. I then painted another layer of the glue on top of the design after I arranged all the squares to my liking. Then there's a strip of antique lace and Stampin' Up!'s pink gingham ribbon strung across the top. I tied it off with a bow, some hemp and two Zva Creative pink flowers. The medallion was made with an Alteration's Rosette die and I mounted it on a Pinking Circle Nestability. The edges are all sponged and I dotted some liquid pearls on the points of the circle. The sentiment is courtesy of Paper Sweeties' November release...this set is called Santa Claus. I also added a Zva Creative flourish to the bottom and I outlined the sentiment panel and collage panel with Silver Stickles. I modeled the design after this week's Mojo Monday sketch and the inspiration is from the Shabby Tea Room's 'Shabby Chic Holiday'.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
