Viva La Verve...A Lifetime

Happy Friday! I got a chance to play along with this week's Viva La Verve challenge brought to us by Maureen. Her design gave me a chance to pull out some new Verve flowers and coordinating dies to put together this card here:

I knew that I wanted to use a verse from Verve's Stronger Love set and I narrowed it down to the one above (it actually fit best in the Ribbon Banner die). I hand stitched the banner to the card base and added a pearl flourish and pearl lines as accents. The left side is Verve's Pennant Trim die, also adorned with both pearl dots and pearl lines. (A little pearl crazy today, I was...  :) The focal panel consists of the two sizes of floral stamps in the Lean On Me set, clear embossed and then sponged with Barn Red ink and then Real Red ink. To make things super easy, I cut out each flower with it's coordinating Pointed Flower die. I added a pearl brad to the middle and also dotted each flower tip with White Opal Liquid pearls. The black panel underneath started off as white...I colored it in with a black Sharpie and then added, you guessed it, more pearls to the Lacey Oval Nestie.

Here's Maureen's sketch:

Here's the story on the Viva La Verve challenge:

Every Friday, a Diva will post a sketch for your enjoyment. Your cards, using the sketches, must be uploaded to Splitcoast Stamper'sViva La Verve forum by the last Thursday of the month. The winner will be announced on the next day and will win a $100 gift certificate to VERVE! How awesome is that?! Just a reminder, Verve stamps are NOT required but we love to see you use them. Feel free to flip, rotate, resize, or otherwise alter the sketch as long as we can tell you USED the sketch! This month's keyword with be VLVSOct2012 for the whole month of October.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

  4. Wow, another gorgeous creation, this one just bursting with pearls!! I love the pennant trim and how each flag has a pearl. The pointed flower is beautiful with the pearl center and of course the ribbon banner looks even better with the little pearls added. I don't think I've ever used the word "pearl" so much! Seriously, I love the card.

  6. Hi Andrea
This is so unusual but totally gorgeous. The medallion effect you have created with the diecuts and embellishments is very effective and I adore the little pennants down the side.
Your stamps are ordered and I am just waiting delivery, I will post on to you with your other gift as soon as they arrive.
    Best wishes Linda xx

  7. I love the banner edge... so different than the usual ribbon or lace. And I love the larger pearls around the edge of the circle. A little different but just as lovely as all of your work!
