CASE Study...Turning On Ourselves

Hi and welcome to our final week of celebration at CASE Study challenges! For our last challenge, Chupa has asked us to CASE ourselves! I chose a Mojo Monday card that I made quite a few months ago, and I chose it by putting one of my hands over my eyes and using the other hand to pick a card from the pile that I have on my bookcase. Here's the new version, followed by the old version, followed by the 'pick' shelf:

I decided to go 'goth' on this card, well, about as goth as I can get. I CASEd the design, the flourishes, flowers, bows, la la la...about everything from my original card, however, I did change the theme, colors and shapes. I used the very last strip I own of  1" Black Sheer Tinsel Edge ribbon (that I have been hoarding) to make the 'ghost' bow at the bottom. The banner was made with Verve's Ribbon Banner die and to mat it, I cut 1/8" off  the panel size and was able to have the sides match up perfectly. The doily started out as white, but then I doused it with my Versafine pad...which in retrospect I wouldn't advise as it took forever to dry, even with the heat gun.

So here's my shabby, feminine original:

This the shelf that I blindly chose from:

Want to see how the other CASE Study design team members were inspired?
Here's the list of the other ladies' blog:

Here are the deets:
1. Create a paper crafting project (card, layout, off-the-page item), based on provided inspiration (being a featured creation, made by our Muse).
2. Post your creation on your blog or an online gallery (using a code CSC106), and link it to the CASE Study blog with the inlinkz widget. Please provide a direct link to your post, not an entire blog.
3. A new challenge is being posted every Thursday at 12.01 AM EST, and you've got until midnight on Tuesday to submit your entry.
4. You may enter as many times as you like, but you're asked to provide a newly designed project.
5. We will choose authors of the four most impressive creations, who will be awarded the Winner and Top 3 awards. In addition, there might be a person chosen randomly from the list of players, who will receive the prize provided by the sponsor - if there is one.
We will announce the winners on Wednesday.
6. Above all, have fun - and be inspired!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

  1. I so get the blindly reaching into part. I have been doing that the past few days, looking for the "perfect" things for a birthday card for my sister--Turns 49 today.
I like both the cards, but REALLY like the original!

  7. Felt drawn to the dark side for a bit, huh? I love the Halloween card, probably the most beautiful and elegant one I've seen. I love all the black elements, especially the ribbon and doily. The orange flower in the corner is beautiful too.
