Sketchin' With The Ribbon Carousel

Welcome to this week's Ribbon Carousel challenge! This week we've got a sketch designed by our Laura Davis. I wanted to go CAS on this one...I've combined it with a couple of challenges from Splitcoast Stampers as well. White layers (CAS) and 1/2 stamping (Try a New Technique). I also altered Laura's sketch a bit, well not the design but the trio of polkas at the bottom got shifted a bit:

In addition to some lovely Ribbon Carousel 1.5" White Net Ribbon underneath the sentiment panel, I used two different Stampin' Up! sets to make this Sympathy card. The sentiment is from Loving Thoughts and the floral stamp is from Elements of Style. The half stamping part of the challenge is to have only 1/2 of your image on the card, basically having it cut off on the edge. I wanted to keep it black and white so I didn't color in the flowers (not that I would have had any desire to do so anyway) and I think that this color scheme really adds to the elegance. Besides the silver pearls, the only other embellishment is the paper piercing in the corner, made with my Stampin' Up! paper piercing Mat Pack.
Have you seen how the other RCC ladies designed with this sketch? Check it out here.

Here is Laura's sketch:

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

We'd love for you to join us this week! Here are the details:
  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge of the week. Any submissions made prior to the challenge date will be deleted. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, (use the keyword RCC57) with a direct link back to THIS post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! (A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!)
  • Link up your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up, but don't worry, it will appear shortly.
  • Come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool!

  10. Simply gorgeous!!! It has your trademark quality and I love the paper piercing corner design. However, that white net ribbon is absolutely fabulous. My eyes went straight to it and I immediately wanted to see what it was in your list. I know I'm terrible at listing materials I use but i'm so grateful for top class bloggers like you, who do :) Pxx
