Ribbon Carousel...Heavy Metal Challenge

I actually enjoy me a bit of heavy metal once in a while...both in the music scene and card making front. I'm sure that by my profile picture you can see what a 'head banger' I am, but a little old school Metallica does tend to get my heart pumping a bit (from my college days...). But this type of heavy metal challenge is being presented to us by our sweet Savannah O'Gwynn at the Ribbon Carousel challenge blog, so in honor of her idea, I added a bit of feminine hardware to my card:

I used some beautiful 3/4" Grosgrain ribbon available in this month's (June) ribbon club kit from the Ribbon Carousel. The kit is full of patriotic colors and if it were not for my club kit subscription, I would not own this thread so for my subscription I am thankful! I added a little metal ribbon buckle, some metallic-looking rhinestone and metal flowers. The border was made with a Scallop Trim punch available from Stampin' Up!. I had already attached the flowers out in space there and then happened to have glanced at my Zva stash...and spotted a cut up flourish that worked perfectly as a stem for the flowers.

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

We'd love for you to join us this week! Here are the details:
  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge of the week. Any submissions made prior to the challenge date will be deleted. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, (use the keyword RCC58) with a direct link back to THIS post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! (A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!)
  • Link up your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up, but don't worry, it will appear shortly.
  • Come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool!
Have a great day!
