Ribbon Carousel...Word To Your Mother

And I have to say that I mean that title with the utmost respect for all mothers...that's just the theme of this week's Ribbon Carousel challenge! So today we're paying homage to all moms! I decided to go all CAS...at feat in and of itself for me, have you seen some of my recent posts? Talk about over-stimulation and sensory overload, lol! Well, here I've tamed it down a bit...and also came up with a sweet ribbon flower, based on an image that I saw recently on Pinterest (sorry, I can't find it anymore!). Anyway, here's my Mother's Day card:

This flower was so simple, but time consuming to make. I cut (5) 2" & (5) 1" lengths of 1/8" Navy / White Solid Stitched Center Ribbon and glued them into a loop. I then adhered all the loops together in a floral design. The finishing touch is a sweet little Zva flower in the middle. Easy peasy!

The ribbon is from the Ribbon Carousel's May Ribbon Club Kit and I have to tell you that I'm so glad that I signed up for a 6 month subscription! I would have never picked this ribbon, so the good thing about the Club Kit is that you can experiment with ribbon you wouldn't ordinarily try out!

This week Wendy, our resident Coloring Goddess on the Ribbon Carousel Crew, is challenging us to create something with a Mother's Day sentiment!
The prize up for grabs is a $5.00 gift card to the Ribbon Carousel Store

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

We'd love for you to join us this week! Here are the details:

  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge of the week. Any submissions made prior to the challenge date will be deleted. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, (use the keyword RCC52) with a direct link back to THIS post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! (A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!)
  • Link up your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up, but don't worry, it will appear shortly.
  • Come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool!
