Heartfelt Creations...Kick Up Your Boots

Happy Wednesday! I've got a Heartfelt Creation's card to show you today, again using the new My Guy collection of stamps. Keep in mind that masculine cards are totally out of my realm, which would explain the fact that I almost had all girly elements eliminated until I added the ribbon. I think, though, the brown and the gingham pattern may give me a pass as to being more on the manly side:

Card Instructions:

Cut Vintage Cream card stock down to 8 1/2" X 5 1/2", score at 5 1/2" and fold. Sponge edges with Walnut Stain distress ink. Cut at 5 1/4" square of Early Espresso card stock, then a 5 1/8" square of  Riding Hood Red and lastly a 5" square of patterned paper. Glue all layers together and adhere to card base. Cut another panel measuring 1 7/8" X 5 1/8" out of the red card stock and emboss. Punch two strips of cream card stock with a border punch and sponge the edges. Adhere under the red panel, making sure to have just the design visible on both the top and bottom edges. Tie brown gingham ribbon with twine and bells around this panel and add copper brads to each scallop on border punch. Adhere to patterned paper square. Stamp sentiment on a 3/4" X 3 1/2" piece of cream card stock and sponge edges. Mat with brown card stock and adhere to top of scalloped design. Die cut one each of a Labels One,then a small and medium size Oval Nestability. While the paper is still in the die, trace the inside of the die with a Sand Spica pen. Remove from die and adorn with Platinum Liquid pearls. Stamp boot design on cream card stock and cut out with coordinating die. Color with Prismacolor pencils and add to Oval shape with dimensionals. Adhere panels to bottom of card and add copper arrows to top of card.
Thanks for coming to visit today, hope you have a great day!

  1. Good morning Andrea,
I love this card today, you have used one of my favourite card pads too. I adore MME and this glittery pad is wonderful, it can be used for so many types of cards.
You may say you were out of your comfort zone, but you would never know it!
    all the best. Hugs Linda

  4. Love the hardware you used on this card! I have a jar full of brads that need to be used up and this is a great way to do it :) Ribbon could signify the cowgirl swooning over the guy who fills the boots ;)

  5. It's a fantastic masculine card!! I had to lol about you saying you eliminated all the 'girly' elements until the ribbon... you can just think of it as a bandana! There ya' go!
