The crew was lucky enough to be able to use some stamps from our awesome sponsor this week, The Craft's Meow! In celebration of today being Valentine's Day, I used the Happy Owlentine's Day set. I've used a lot of different Ribbon Carousel textiles on this card, starting with the 1.5" Natural Burlap Silver/White Stripe Edge Wired Ribbon that lays across the striped panel. Over that I stitched some Black Vintage Seam Binding taught with a basting seam and pulled it tight to get a ruffled look. (Unfortunately, most of it got covered by the image panel.). I made the ruffled flower in the middle, after frustration in not being able to match the red color with a flower from my stash. Necessity certainly is the mother of invention. I will be making up a tutorial on my method to be displayed on the Ribbon Carousel's blog sometime in the near future. (You also may want to check out the blog now...I know that Corinna advertises discount codes for ribbon exclusively for subscribers.) In any event, I used some 1/4" Burgundy Satin Center Band Ribbon to make the flower and placed that over a sweet little multi-looped bow made with Black Colored Wire String. Oh, boy is that stuff great to work with...it stays exactly where you left it, unlike kids and husbands... :)
And we welcome our sponsor this week, The Crafts Meow.

The prize this week is a stamp set of your choice from The Crafts Meow. Sweet!

So cute and yet so elegant at the same time :) Adorable details with the liquid pearls and black twine with the flower.
ReplyDeleteI succumbed to your enabling and got one of the border punches you used recently. Had a hard time deciding between this one and the flower one and the flower won out as figured it was more versatile but now that I see this I want it again - ugh! May have to go back and get it with what is left of my birthday money.
Brilliant card. Love the black and neutral combo, such a rich palette. Cute stamp image too. You've done it full justice :) Px
