Snowflakes Are Winter's Wonders

Hey there blogging friends...I've been busy this morning, making a card for my normal Mojo Monday and Shabby Tea Room challenges. Mojo threw me for a loop this morning...that sketch really had me scratching my head at first, until I went really broad with it, you'll see what I mean below. The Shabby Tea Room has a perfectly delightful (as always) inspiration picture and a requirement of white/cream, silver and a splash of pink. Check. A third challenge I attempted was at Splitcoast to ink up the inside of an embossing folder to make a background look like pottery/china. I think I was able to achieve that effect as well, take a look:

I started with a base of Rustic White card stock and inked up a Snow Flurries EF with some Pumice Stone distress ink. Then I added the lace and silver cord around the middle and attached a sweet pink bow and a layered snowflake. I then adhered the crystals to the middles of each snowflake, added the gem flourishes and the sentiment with a touch of some Petal Pink Liquid pearls. I flipped the Mojo sketch 90° and I'm {pretending} that my snowflakes and sentiment panel satisfy those four corner panels. Just a taking a bit of come creative liberties...if you will. I will, thanks...  :) Finally I used dimensionals to attach the main panel and then added some crystal strips to the perimeter.

Here's the sketch for Mojo Monday:

  10. Hi Andrea,
Well I enlarged the picture of your gorgeously stunning card and I think you passed with flying colours. The inking technique definitely looks like pottery/china. A very clever result I must say.

  16. It totally flies with me for that sketch. This card is stunningly gorgeous!! I was not so sure what you'd do when I was reading the colors, but WOW! I am really intrigued with your ink on the folder. I have stamped an image on the folder before embossing, but never just added ink and of course, I lack Pumice Stone. Thanks for getting me thinking, as usual.
