Ribbon Carousel...You Make My Heart Flutter

Welcome to the Ribbon Carousel challenge! This week, we're using Danielle’s "Go To" Sketch for your creation! Danielle Lounds was gracious enough to share her "Go To Sketches" with us, so you’ll see them throughout the year. Here is my card taking A LOT of liberties with the shapes, I've changed the main rectangular panel and made it a heart, and the two slanted panels off to the left I've made into crystal stamens. I really went wide with this sketch, and you can too!

I wanted to outline my card with a fun border and was eyeing up my Fleur De Lis Rectangles when I realized that the largest size was not big enough to encompass my inner panel. So, I measured up the next smaller size and it turns out that if you align four of them in a giant square it works out perfectly!

This is a great sketch to use with the images provided by our fabulous sponsor this week….

One lucky participant will win 3 free digis of their choice from the Some Odd Girl store.

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***
We'd love for you to join us this week!

Here are the details:
  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge of the week. Any submissions made prior to the challenge date will be deleted. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, (use the keyword RCC36) with a direct link back to THIS post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! (A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!)
  • Link up your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up, but don't worry, it will appear shortly.
  • Come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool!

  8. Hi Andrea,
What a pretty and delicate card you have for us today. I love the use of the Fleur de lis squares as a first matt/layer, it really lifts the card and makes it very frilly.
    It is just lovely.

  9. You are so smart, figuring out that Fleur de Lis rectangle deal! I had been looking at the card, thinking, 'wow, they make a die that big?'...then I read your solution.

See, I always learn new things here at Chez Ewen!
