be mine

Hello Monday! I've got a four-fer to show you today, a card using Mojo Monday's sketch and Splitcoast's Try a New Technique challenge, which is to pick any challenge over the past year. I actually picked three, TLC 304 'Sewing or Stitching',  TLC 330 'Old World Look' and TLC 303 'Deck Your Cards with Some Sponging'. Phew! Here is my card based on these challenges:

Lots of distressing, sponging, sewing and vintage-y things going on, just to my heart's liking. :)

The frayed flower was cut from a spool of wired ribbon that I purchased from the Ribbon Carousel. Corinna regularly adds coupons to the Ribbon Carousel blog...on top of her already incredible prices...so sign up to get access to those savings...and some of the sweetest ribbon around!
We went to dinner at my mom's house last night and I was rifling through her button assortment and came up with quite the goody bag for myself, this sweet little wooden button being one of them. Thanks, mom! I also had her search through her sewing cabinet to see if she had any vintage/old lace that I could swindle, but she had cleaned house already. :(
Ok, off to do normal, mundane household stuff. Ugh.
 Have a super crafty day~

  10. WOWZA!!! This is something special indeed!!!! Love it. Especially the shabby, frayed flower. And I Love the distressed edges, you've really gone to town on it. Looks superb. I only daintily fray the card and it's hardly noticeable. Think I'll try and imitate you next time as I adore the effect. Thx for the inspiration. Px

  12. What a bummer that your mom didn't have any lace left to give you, but I'm glad you got some buttons out of the search!

Great combo of challenges here, and as always, very elegant and beautiful!
