Heartfelt Creations...Wishing You Happiness

I've got a card to share with you today, one that I experimented with as far as flowers go. Heartfelt Creations makes the most beautiful flower dies with stamp sets to match and as I was playing around with the Daisy Patch dies, I fashioned some mum-type flowers. It is still Fall, officially until Dec. 21st, so I figured that I could still get away with making Autumnal flowers:

Instructions:
Corner & border punch a 4 3/4" X 6" Rustic White card stock panel. Mat on top of that a 4" X 5 1/4" black panel. On a 3 7/8" X 5 1/8" panel of Rustic White card stock, stamp Vintage Word Background stamp and sponge edges. Stamp Bella Rose Leaves in Artichoke ink onto Artichoke paper. Cut out with Belle Rose die cut. Die cut 12 of the second smallest flower in the Daisy Patch set (this makes 3 full sets of flowers total). Gently curl the edges of each petal with a paper piercer and glue four flowers on top of each other in a staggered fashion. Cut out 9 of the smallest flower in the same set, repeat the curling method and staggering with 3 flower shapes per finished flower. Glue a gem in the middle of each flower. Adhere the 3 flowers to the Belle Rose cut out and glue that to the stamped background panel. Stamp sentiment onto Rustic White card stock, punch out panel, distress edges and adorn with pearls. Attach to bottom of face of card with dimensionals. Adhere card face to black panel and add black pearls to outside border punch. Lightly dab each flower with Crystal Stickles.

Stamps: HCPC 3390 Bella Rose Leaves PreCut Set, HCPC 3320 Vintage Word Background PreCut Set, HCPC 3401 Bella Rose Scroll PreCut Set (Heartfelt Creations)
Paper: Rustic White, Black (PTI), Always Artichoke, Barely Banana (SU!)
Ink: Always Artichoke, Versafine Onyx Black, Pumice Stone & Walnut Stain distress inks (Ranger)
Accessories: HCD 712 Bella Rose die cut, HCD703 Daisy Patch die cut (Hearfelt Creations), Vintage Floral corner/border punch, gems (Martha Stewart), black pearls, dauber, dimensionals, Crystal Stickles,  Decorative Label punch (SU!), paper piercer

Ribbon Carousel...Comfort and Joy

Hello Tuesday! The Ribbon Carousel has a new challenge starting today and although I'm on the 'other' crew, I still enjoy playing with the design team's weekly themes. The fabulous Stephanie Muzzulin is challenging you to Color our World! Neutrals can always be used, but be sure to keep with Stephanie’s palette of Kraft, Red and Brown as your inspiration.

When I was looking at this color scheme, my mind went to the beautiful Satin Center Band ribbon that Corinna carries in her store and I thought that if I wrapped it up like a bow, that would be a cool Christmas package design. It turns out that it looks like a giant flower, but I'm ok with that, too!

Here are a few photos of my design process:

Cut out strips of ribbon, then hot glue the ends together. I ended up using 6 of each loop:

Adhere larger loops with a glue gun to the kraft background in a geometric pattern. Then stagger the smaller loops in the same pattern and add the middle accoutrement:

The finished product, again:
This week we are honored to have The Greeting Farm back as our sponsor!

The Greeting Farm will be giving one lucky random winner a choice of 4x6 rubber stamp set or one of their fabulous new clear acrylic stamp sets!

We'd love to have you play along with us at the Ribbon Carousel this week!

Remember: Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

 Here are the details:
  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge of the week. Any submissions made prior to the challenge date will be deleted. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, (use the keyword RCC31) with a direct link back to THIS post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! (A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!)
  • Link up your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of the RCC post. Your image may take a little while to pop up, but don't worry, it will appear shortly.
  • Come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool! :D
Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Zva Creative November DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcomes you to join us this November for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special because it is the first hop for many of our new 2011-12 team members!  We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!  See details below.

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.  If you like Zva's products you can find a list stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

The Blog Hop begins at Windy Robinson's blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!

Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The Blog Hop starts today, November 28th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, November 29th.
The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 30th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found on Windy Robinson's blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry
So you have FOUR chances on each blog to win one of our FIVE prizes!  That's a lot of chances to win!

Here is my card bases on the colors Lime/Olive. I've made a secret compartment built into the side of the card. This was one of my pre-dawn epiphanies:

I made the right side detachable so that this second sentiment could be accessed (in a fun way!)

Here are a few close ups of the beautiful flowers and bling!

You can NEVER have enough bling :)

My card is based loosely on this week's Mojo sketch:

The blog hop begins here: Windy Robinson. Your next stop is here: Nicole Martel.

Thank you for joining us!

P.S. Next month's blog hop will be happening one week early so mark your calendar to join us on Monday, December 19th for another inspiring Zva blog hop!

Featured Stamper...A Shabby Birthday

Happy Sunday! Today will certainly be my day of rest...hubby and I raked, mowed, gutter-cleaned all day yesterday, so I think I owe myself a little stamping time. (I could have done nothing and still think that I deserve stamp time ;) So today I'm playing along with Splitcoast Stamper's Featured Stamper challenge...today's lucky gal is Stacy Sheldon, aka JBgreendawn. I chose this card here to CASE, I simply love all things shabby! Here is my take on Stacy's lovely card:

The sentiment is from Verve's Hope Blooms set and I've added quite a few vintage accents as well, the crinkled seam binding is from MemrieMare Etsy shop and the lace was given to me by my friend Stephanie, who bravely rescued this lace from being thrown away! I've sewn most of the panels down while also sponging the edges. The inner circle is a K & Co. die cut that I sprayed with Elmer's glue and powdered with glitter.
Hope you have a fantastic Sunday...filled with hours of stamping!

Heartfelt Creations Black Friday Release

Hello Black Friday! Today is the day where I stay in my pajamas all day and feel really sorry for all those folks standing outside at 4am waiting for the best deals on the awesome new products of the year. Don't get me wrong, I know they WANT to be there for those deals, but I DON'T WANT to be there, so I guess is works out. Speaking of awesome new products, Heartfelt Creations has come out with THE most fabulous dies, the likes of which I have not seen anywhere....and they're so versatile!

Heartfelt Creations is pleased to present the Artistic Gatefold Collection. This collection, in simple terms is "stunning and genius". It features 6 new precut stamp sets that coordinate with existing Spellbinders dies and 2 new exclusive dies. This is another must have collection.
**Don’t feel guilty for splurging on yourself!**
Heartfelt Creations will be donating 10% of all Black Friday sales towards ChildCry, a non-profit feeding organization founded by Times Square Church. ChildCry feeds over 4159 kids in 22 different countries, including the United States. Every penny donated to ChildCry is used to buy food for hungry children so go ahead...feed your hobby, and a hungry child! You can view all the details by following this link: www.childcrynyc.org.

Here's a look at a card I made with the brand new Layered Elegant Swirl Die:

And here's a peek at the dies in their full glory:

These are the instructions for this card:

Cut 12" X 12" Black card stock to 4 5/8" X 12", score at 6" mark, fold. Next 4 descending panels measure as follows: Kraft - 4 1/2" X 5 7/8", Cream - 4 1/4" X 5 3/4", Black - 4 1/8" X 5 5/8", Cream - 4" X 5 1/2". The last cream panel was stamped with Heartfelt Creations Large Elegant Word Background PreCut Set and sponged around the edges with distress ink. Use Heartfelt Creations Layered Elegant Swirl die and cut out of Cream card stock, alternately cutting out each side. Do the same with the Scalloped edge. Sponge edges of swirls with distress ink and attach to black base with dimensionals. Cut out a Fancy Tags Two from Kraft and adorn with Liquid Pearls. Stamp sentiment in black ink, cut to fit window on Tag. Attach to Black oval, and adhere that to Elegant Swirl base. Add bow adorned with brad to bottom corner.

Leave a comment on the Heartfelt Creations blog by Novenber 29 for a chance to win the entire release valued at $150. The winner will be announced on the HC blog on November 30.

To make paper flowers, stamp 2 large & 4 small Carnations florals and cut out. Sponge both sides with distress ink and lightly curl up edges with paper piercer. Take two small flowers and add glue to petals and center & fold up. Add first rolled up flower to second and roll that up too. then add to the last 2 small flowers that have been attached to each other in a staggered fashion. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends, and anyone else who likes to celebrate a day filled with family time and a food-feast lasting from sun up to sun down! I'm lucky enough to head over to my mother's today, where she and her husband will be doing all of the cooking and I'll be doing all of the dishes...a trade-off I surely don't mind! But before I head over there in the most comfortable pair of sweats I can find, I've got a CASE Study card to share with you, in our continuing inspiration imparted by Kryssi Ng:

And here's Kryssi's beautiful CAS card, one that I tried very hard to CASE, but ended up adding lots 'o bling to...I just couldn't help myself!

Time to check out how the other CASE Study gals made some gorgeousness with Kryssi's card:

Heartfelt Creations...Behold

Good Morning! I guess I can say that this is my first "official" card as a Heartfelt Creations design team member! I've received so many beautiful stamps and sweet dies from HC and I can't wait to show you all the fabulous ways you can use them! I've made a card today with a Christmas theme and I've arranged some of the die cuts to make a intricate focal panel:

Here are the instructions for making this card:

Cut white card stock base to 5 1/2" X 11" and score at the 5 1/2" mark, fold. Using a scoring board, score in 1/8" increments in each direction on the face of the card. Punch a 5" square of white card stock with a Martha Stewart Quilted corner and border punch. Wrap Olive ribbon around laterally and attach to back, then adhere to card base using foam dots. Glue to that the largest size Labels One Nestability cut from Artichoke card stock and dot the perimeter with the Liquid Pearls. Stamp the Magnificent Spruce Trees in Artichoke ink onto a Labels Eighteen die cut and lightly dot the trees with a glue pen. Add Glitter and tap off excess. Cut out 2 scroll designs from Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals die cuts. Attach them bilaterally behind the Labels Eighteen panel. Adhere to Labels One panel with foam dots. Stamp sentiment onto white card stock and punch out using the Designer Label punch. Attach with foam dots to the Labels Eighteen panel. Adorn with pearls.

Easy enough, right?

Ribbon Carousel...Holiday Joy

It's time for another fun challenge at the Ribbon Carousel! I've been trying to think up new ways to use ribbon and my best ideas come when I'm lying in bed and the alarm is just about to go off. My brain knows that I'm awake, yet my body is telling me, "uh, you've still got 10 minutes before I have to move!". So my brain keeps quietly busy thinking up new cards.
With the holidays upon us, Lindsay is challenging us to make a creation celebrating a holiday!  Any holiday will do, Hanukkah, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or even New Year’s if you’re that far ahead!

Here's a view to see that I cut out the middle of the card, paper punched it with Martha's Garden Trellis punch and then re-attached it to the middle. I wove the thread through the holes for a decorative design.

This is a view of the inside front cover:

I used the Ribbon Carousel's 1/4" Satin - Center Band Ribbon in Antique Gold, Burgundy and Olive to attain the woven ribbon look on the front. After weaving, I took a small amount of ribbon and fashioned a little bow which I glued onto the front in a scattered manner. The sentiment panel is a Beaded Oval that I Liquid Pearl dotted around the perimeter after stamping the "Joy" in the middle.

**Check out the Ribbon Carousel's new blog to see a tutorial that I made for this card.
Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Mojo Monday...Christmas Blessings

Good morning all! I've got my Mojo Monday card all set to go for today, I've been in a Kraft/Cream/Black mood lately, not sure why...colder weather maybe? Gray, Fall skies? Whatever the case, I'm not complaining because this combo really appeals to me. I've also combined this card with Splitcoast's Try A New Technique challenge...Let's Make Snow! So what better time to pull out my Verve Glad Tidings set paired with the newly released Snowflakes Tidings die cuts! Here is my card:

A softer view from the window sill:

This week's Mojo sketch:

Lots of vintage happiness on this card, I distressed all the edges and sewed them down with my sewing machine after sponging them with some distress ink. The snowflakes were sooo easy to cut out with Verve's new dies, I'm delighted that Julee is now making dies for some of Verve's older (and still well loved) sets. I hand sewed the "XX" pattern on the sentiment to attach it to the base. The flourish is perfect, it looks like the snowflakes are sweet wisps on the wind...I love it! That darling bit of pearl scrumptiousness is from Zva Creative...I could get absolutely lost in the beauty of all their bling! I also added a bit of vintage lace, some homemade stick pins and a cute little heart button.
Off to the food store so that we have dinner for Thursday...need to get that turkey defrosted!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
