A Mix of Styles

Hello blog friends! Having these few days off has really got my creative juices flowing, so I figured I'd ride the wave until it ebbs. I made this card this morning for CR84FN's current color challenge, a very pleasing mix of light yellow, light blue and kraft. I was going for clean and elegant with this card, and I started off fine, then I went ahead and added the doily and paper flowers, putting shabby in the mix. Don't get me wrong, this card is appealing to me, it's just that I feel like the last few cards I've made all look the same...to me, anyway. Here's my "mix of styles" card:

Just a different view:

And CR84FN's color palette:

I added some scoring on the outer panels with a scoring board. I think it frames out the inner panels nicely. The sentiment panel consists of Circle & Lacy Circle Nestabilites...some popped up with dimensionals. Solid and liquid pearls adorn the circle and the stamped flourish frame is part of a JustRite's Family Garden circular stamp.
Have a wonderful day!

Stamps: Family Garden (JustRite Stamps)
Paper: Kraft (PTI), Bashful Blue (Stampin' Up!), Colonial White textured card stock (CTMH)
Ink: Frayed Burlap distress ink (Ranger), Versafine Onyx Black (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Circle & Lacy Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), doily (Wilton), White Opal Liquid pearls (Ranger), pearls (SU!), Score board (Martha Stewart), paper piercer, dimensionals, paper flowers (Wild Orchid Crafts), yellow roses (Recollections)
Size: 4 1/4" X 5 1/2"

  1. Love the scoring around the edges. Frames everything fabulously! That is such a great colour mix - can't wait to use it! Lovely mix of flowers too. Thinking I need to toss the glove here and see if you can make a card with no flowers on it (other than stamped ones). See what fabulous creation the long weekend, sunshine, BBQ food and creative juices can come up with ;) I'm out of ICU for the skewed panel Verve sketch and looking forward to a non-stressful creation time LOL! Huge hug :)
