Kind Words

Good Monday morning! The past two nights I've stayed up late with nothing to show for it except a train wreck that used to be my craft table. I couldn't get anything to click, nothing to match and only ended up with a large amount of frustration. I decided to put all of that behind me and focus at a new task at hand. I have combined this week's Mojo Monday sketch with The Shabby Tea Room's ruffled ribbon technique and Amy's Get Your Diva On fabric challenge going on over at Splitcoast. I think that the stars must have shifted because I was able to complete this card with minimal strife :)

Here is a close-up of the linen flowers I used for Verve's Get Your Diva On challenge...using fabric:

Here's a little more info on the Get Your Diva On challenge:

May 2011 Challenge: "Material Girl" All you have to do is incorporate fabric into your card or project. Think fabric die-cuts, a denim border, anything felt, sticky-back canvas, stamp on a fabric item such as a pillow, or embellish a fabric item such as a tote bag, canvas tag, etc. You can use a pre-made fabric item or create something from scratch! Let your creativity shine!

Each month a different Diva will "host" a week long challenge. The challenge itself is up to the Diva hostessing, so you never know what it's going to be! Isn't that kind of exciting?!! The Get Your Diva On Challenge will start on the 2nd Monday of every month. Participants will have until the following Sunday night (May 15th) at 9 pm Mountain to enter. The winner will be announced Tuesday, May 17th. We'd LOVE to see you use your Verve stamps, but if you don't have any, we'd still love to see your creations!!

The winner of the challenge (chosen by Julee) will get to be a Guest Diva in an upcoming release AND will receive all of the stamps/dies for that release for free! They will also get to play along with the Divas during the pre-release Spotlights as well as at the Release Party!! How's THAT for exciting?!!

Have a great crafty day!

  9. Glad this one did not cause too much problems for you! It is beautiful as your cards always are. The ruffled ribbon and twine are very nice! Great flower and pins too! Hope the other projects flow for you now. I hate when I can't get my projects to work. It happens frequently! I have a pile of rejected duds! I keep hoping they will look better some day or something will hit me to redo them. Not yet!
