Welcome to Day 2 of Verve's New Release Spotlights! We're doing a bunch of hopping around this week, showing off some beautiful new Spring-like Verve stamps...full of fun phrases, fabulous flowers and elegant expressions. Today I'm showing you a card I made with yesterday's spotlight, Happy Phrases, and today's featured set, Bloom & Grow. Here's my Mother's Day themed card:
When I originally started making this card I had it set in my mind what I wanted to do. This is not at all what I had pictured initially. The design I was going for just wasn't working so I decided not to try to steer the river, but let it guide me in the direction I was meant to go. This card is it. I did some fancy punching with a Martha Stewart Deco fan punch, the outer size started out as a 5" square. After measuring the repeat in the design, I determined that the inner square would have to be 3 & 9/16". Too technical? One line past the 3 & 1/2" mark. I used Verve's new Happy Phrases set for my sentiment and it's highlighted beautifully using Verve's A Cut Above Charming Oval dies, nested one inside the other.
The leafy adornment was made using a stamp from the new Bloom & Grow set, then cut out perfectly with the also new Elegant Leaves die cut. Thank goodness for not having to fussy cut leaves anymore! Thanks Julee!

ReplyDeleteFor approximately 30 years now, I've been fussy cutting and I'm all for the new short cuts being offered in the form of dies. To make it even more awesome are the stamps that go along with the dies.
