Viva La Verve...November Already!

Can you believe it? Where has this year gone? I was told by some wise customers from work that, especially when your children are young, a day goes on forever but the years go by in a flash. Isn't that the truth! This past month seriously flew by with all the projects and card making that I've been doing. Definitely a labor of love! Right now I can hear my DH vacuuming in the background, kinda like a "OK, I'm doing your job because you're not". I have been rather remiss in my housework duties lately. Luckily guilt doesn't affect me (lol). That reminds me of another saying that I have hanging on my fridge..."I understand the concept of housework, I just don't understand how it applies to ME". I don't think that will fly with him. Anyway, here's my card for Verve's Friday sketch challenge for the first week of November:

Here's Amber's sketch that we're following this week:

And here's the inspiration photo that I chose to model my card after:

I scored big time at Michael's when they were putting all of their Fall items on clearance so I grabbed a few picks that had small Autumn colored flowers and I just cannibalize them as I need them.
Guess I'd better go make an appearance with the dust mop to show I'm still on the team. And so I stop getting dirty looks as well.
Have a great Halloween!

  2. Your card is gorgeous, Andrea!! Love the MS trim down the sides and your cannibalized flower is stunning :) Great take on the sketch and insp. piece!!

I need that fridge magnet LOL! I remember my mom telling I would be wishing that days went slowly when I was older - how true! Christmas will be here before we know it!

  3. So nice! I have been playing with my MS punches today instead of actually making a card! Thinking of you the whole time, knowing you have already perfected what I am still painfully learning. It is amazing what you find out when you actually read the instructions! Go figure! Anyway in the time that I have been playing, you actually made and posted a card! So I have done neither house work or a card! Better start on the housework though before the dirty looks come my way too! Must start out the week right, so the rest of the week who cares!

  6. I absolutely LOVE and relate totally to that saying on your fridge. LOL!! Thank goodness my hubby NEVER gives me a dirty look about my housework challenged ways. Your card is beautiful!! I've got to try again at Michaels and Hobby Lobby with the artificial flowers... I see you bloggers use them on your cards all the time but when I look at them in the store I never think they'll work on my cards. I need new eyes when I shop!!
