New Verve...Glad Tidings

Already it's Day 4 of  Verve's Winter Collection releases! How fast my parade appearance and tiara wearing stint is going by! It's only that I'm enjoying myself and this experience so immensely that the hands of time are whirling by at light speed! In any event, today I will be showcasing a couple of cards that I made with another new Verve set called "Glad Tidings". As you can tell from my previous posts, I am really working my mojo with these cards due to the fact that these stamps are so wonderful! I actually posted two versions of this first card. Take a look:

And this one I added Cuttlebug Vintage corner adornments:

I wasn't sure which one I like best so I posted both of them. The wreath was colored in using Stampin' Up markers and I added Petal Pink Liquid pearls to the berries to give them some shimmer. There are two Nestabilities circles over top of a Lacey Circle. The way that I had embossed, daubed and decorated the inner circle almost makes it look like there are three, but there is only one. I matted that focal piece onto a burgundy circle and then I added them to the Lacey circle with some dimensionals for a little, well, dimension.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Glad Tidings (Verve)
Paper: Belle Collection dp (Kaisercraft), Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla (SU)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black (Tsukineko), Always Artichoke (SU)
Accessories: Modern Garland border punch (Martha Stewart), Circles & Lacey Circles Nestabilities, Vintage Corner dies (Cuttlebug), Winter Rose Cherry Frost (Prima), Antique White Satin ribbon (Papermart), Petal Pink Liquid Pearls (Ranger), Always Artichoke, Old Olive & Bravo Burgundy markers (SU), sewing machine, dauber, dimensionals
Size: 5 1/2" square

This next card really has a lot going on. I had visions of circles and flourishes when I had set out to make this one and sure enough it's pretty true to what I had envisioned. Here is the other card that I made using this same set:

And some close-ups of the details:

I handmade the burgundy accordion fan and the gold one is a sticker. The brown glittered flourish is a piece of chipboard from K & Co. The Kraft/Vanilla medallion underneath is also handmade. I used my Martha Stewart Optic Dots for the Vanilla paper and the Swirling Lace corner punch for the Kraft paper. I have a tutorial here on the medallion. I also have a tutorial on the accordion medallion which you can view here. I sponged  the edges and added some topaz gems to the "yucky" parts (i.e. the jagged edges where the punches didn't exactly line up) of the design.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Glad Tidings (Verve)
Paper: Mistletoe dp (CTMH), Always Artichoke, Whisper White (SU), Kraft (PTI), Mistletoe dp (Memory box)
Ink: Walnut Stain Distress ink (Ranger)
Accessories: Swirling Lace & Optic Dots corner punches, Deco fan border punch, Walnut craft seam binding (Martha Stewart), Fancy Scalloped Pierceabilities (Spellbinders), Glittered flourish & gems (K & Co.), Glass Glitter Stars & Spun Glass Snowflakes (Jolee's boutique), dimensionals, daubers
Size: 5 1/2" square

  1. Hurray! Glad I can comment on how absolutely lovely your cards are (didn't mean to make you panic! LOL). The colors and that rose in the first one are so appealing. And I just love the second one. I am amazed at how much you put into one card, and yet they always come together to look like works of art.
