Grateful Mojo

Grateful...hmm...grateful that I'm not it school anymore, grateful I got out of work early today...grateful I finished my Mojo card before Sunday night. How superficial, huh? I should be grateful for my health, my family, my job and my house and I am. But those are everyday in the back of your mind grateful. These other little things are in your conscious grateful. Ok, off my soap box. Here's my Mojo card:

And the sketch:

And a little close-up of my floral focal point:

I am also entering this card in Verve's current project parade and the theme is to use 'Something Old, Something New'. On this card I've used the new 'Dream Big' set and the older (but new to me) 'Thankful Hearts':

To make the sentiment panel, I cut out 4 of the Large Fancy Tags Nestabilities and glued one next to the other times two. I then laid them criss cross one on top of the other and layered the Labels One dies on top of that, of course using some dimensionals for added effect. I added pearls to the joints so they weren't visible. Now I'm grateful that this post is complete because I'm going to get my grateful butt kicked at Boot Camp.
Have a great night, and thanks for stopping by!

  8. Hi Andrea!
Regarding pencils. :-) (one of my favorite subjects) I never use any gamsol or other mineral spirit with my coloring. I use "goo gone" (its made from citrus and gets sticky things like gum and tape off furniture etc. You can find it in the grocery store cleaning aisle.) You can also use baby oil. It does the same thing. Basically it melds the colors together.
Yes, you can also use the Prismacolor blending pencils. they blend and get rid of any lines you may have produced while coloring but wont give you the "copic " effect that baby oil or goo gone will . Try both and see which you like better.
Also get some good blending stumps. I recently bought a small bag at Hobby Lobby or Michaels and was shocked at how hard and pointy they are. They're rubbish. You want ones made with a soft paper. My best ones are 20 years old and made with a soft grey paper.(they probably weren't grey to start with. lol)
Ive checked online at dick blick and the merri artist and you can get softer blending stumps at those type places than they're selling at these chain hobby stores. If you have a small art store, they may have good ones too.
Feel fre to ask any questions at all and I'll do my darndst to confuse..I mean HELP you. :-)
    Hugs,Dorcas
