My super fab hubby fashioned a new light box for me yesterday. I had gone shopping with my mom and I left a set of instructions that I had downloaded from Becca Feeken's blog, Amazing Paper Grace. He went to Home Depot with the list of materials and came home and made a fabulous light box. However, when we tried to use it, this is what happened:
We had followed the instructions and were using two 500 watt flood lights on each side. He says "Well, yellow photos aren't that bad"...needless to say we started again from scratch. (I don't know why I keep saying 'we', he did all the work.) Anyway, he was able to change the box and the lighting to get much better results, just cutting up a cardboard box and using 3 compact fluorescent light bulbs. Ah, much better I say. Now I can take pictures at night when I seem to be able to get the most done. Thanks to my super sweetie, who did all of this on his birthday.Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteWhat a guy! And thanks for posting a link so that we too can create a light box. I always have to take my pix during the day, in the dining room. Never at night; my lighting is terrible.

Beautiful card and how sweet your hubby is for hooking you up with a homemade light box! I made one last year but my little guy discovered it one day and it became his "toybox"!!! I didn't have the heart to take it from him, plus it occupied him while I crafted!

ReplyDeleteThis card is beautiful!! I saw that post when Becca told about her light box, too. I told my hubby and we talked about making one, but then he found a great deal online and bought one for me from a photo supply place. I have not made any cards yet to try it out, but I sure hope it works well.
